New Tahoe Firmware Release

We have updated the Tahoe release on the downloads page.  This new release removes the evaluation version limitation, and includes support for download and debug over the serial port.

Update: This release was for the original Tahoe only.  We are testing a Tahoe-II build which includes SD card support and will have this available at the end of next week (6 Feb).

Why don’t you add an offset to the driver if a MBR is detected on the card?

You can’t tell me that every other device in the world does not work out of spec. I have several cameras, computers, and mp3 players that work with my SD Cards. Bypassing the MBR seems much simpler than finding something that formats the cards different.

-Thanks,
Matt

That is a good point, and something that we should do. Unfortunately the code is not ours, so this will take a bit of time.
We have a utility available now that will erase sector zero. When you re-format under Windows this will do the right thing and not create an MBR. It’s available at the bottom on the download page.

Any ETA on when the latest firmware version update will be availble to download! Thanx

Soon. We have found the SD card issue. The cards that don’t work are formatted with an MBR (which is not part of the SD spec, and hence not supported by the MS driver). Re-formatting and removing this is not easy to do, and we are working on a solution to this now. A new release wil follow as soon as this is sorted.

If you are still having problems with the SD Card firmware. Could you give us the model number of a card you do have working?

-Thanks,
Matthew Whited

The card that is working is a KeyMem 512MB.

Hello Martin!

Did you measure SD card read/write operations speed?

Thanks,
Petr.

Not yet – we are still working through some bugs that are preventing a number of cards from working properly.

Hi,

can you confirm when the new firmware will be available on the link in your post. Does the new firmware add working SD Card support?

Thanks,

Luke
